Ms. Editrix

Ms. Editrix was founded in 2018 by Kim Lancaster, a lifelong creative herself who fully believes in the “second act” of career and life. Innovative, flexible, and always respecting the vision and opinion of the author, Kim and the rest of the Ms. Editrix editorial team adapt to the needs of the project, the desires of the author, all while personalizing service to accommodate the unique needs of every client.

Kim has a distinctive and personal approach to editing, a word sherpa, carrying the mundane so the author can continue to pursue their vision. She has limited her scope of only accepting novels, books, poetry, and screenplays to focus on the specific needs of the author and to provide the most individual attention to your aspirations.

Kim Lancaster is Ms. Editrix, a freelance editor and creative consultant who specializes in helping novelists and other storytellers reach their full potential as artists. She believes in the nobility of the writing profession and her discerning style and masterful patience will support you to a polished product you are proud of submitting

With a degree in History and a lifetime of working with creatives, Kim has helped hundreds of talented artists find their full potential. She has worked with internationally bestselling novelists, world-class legal experts and academics preparing their monograms for publication.

While she is passionate about her relationships with her established clients, her favorite writers to work with are the unpublished or under-published who are on the cusp of greatness. She loves working with first-time novelists, and while she reads and edits a variety of genres, she has a particular affinity with historical novels where she can use her skillset for fact-checking and historical accuracy.

When she’s not helping writers hone their gifts, she’s an internationally respected Irish Dance adjudicator. A former world-class performer herself, Kim understands the creative process and the vulnerability that entails. Her coaching support is grounded in the knowledge of what is necessary to create a relationship that the writer can flourish in and produce their best work.
